Layouts in the February 2020 Issue

Southwestern Pacific in HO Scale

Tour Mike McGinley's freelanced Southwestern Pacific and see the BNSF at work across the American Southwest. The SWP is not set in a static era. This feature is based in 2001, a few years after the merger of the Santa Fe and Burlington Northern. The magazine includes many photographs of Mike's gorgeous modeling and a video interview as he discusses the layout. Subscribers will enjoy 360 degree images of the layout and a 360 degree cab ride.

Santa Fe Prescott Division in TT Scale

Gary Raabe's TT scale freelanced version of the AT&SF's Peavine Line is based in 1956 and runs both steam and diesel locomotives. We share how Gary built and operates the model, which was originally modular. We also share some of the prototype history of the route and some information about modeling in TT.

We include a separate section exploring the layout in 2006 as the Union Pacific (with patched Southern Pacific locomotives) and a cab ride so you can enjoy the gorgeous scenes from the perspective of a train.
